Assistant Profesor, Department of Pediatrics
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University, where I double majored in Biology and Visual Art. I then worked in Washington, DC in marketing for a healthcare research and consulting firm, prior to pursuing medicine at Georgetown School of Medicine. I became board certified in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics after completing residency at the University of California San Diego. I then completed Pediatric Rheumatology fellowship at Duke and am excited to continue research as a Duke faculty member. My work in the Truskey Lab is focused on developing an in vitro model of juvenile dermatomyositis, in order to discover pathogenic mechanisms of disease and potential therapeutic targets. In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, being active outdoors, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
