Akhil Bedapudi

Bedapudi

I’m an undergraduate junior (Class of 2023) majoring in biomedical engineering with minors in chemistry and economics. While I was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, I’ve spent most of my life in Dallas, Texas. I have been working in the Truskey lab since sophomore year. Currently, I’m working with Nadia on evaluating characteristics of iPSC-derived smooth muscle and endothelial cells from progeria and healthy donors and their responses to various drug treatments.

On campus, I’m a house course instructor, tutor at the Emily K center, and volunteer at the hospital. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school and/or pursue a PhD in biomedical engineering. In my free time, I enjoy cheering on Duke sports, playing tennis, running, and hanging out with friends and family.
