Apoorva Ramamurthy

PhD Student, University of Wisconsin-Madison BME

I was born in India, and I moved to Durham to get my Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. I did my undergrad in Biotechnology in the city of Bangalore in South India, and I’m a Bangalorean at heart! I’ve hopped around a little in terms of figuring out an area of interest, and I’ve finally settled on microfluidics, tissue engineering and point-of-care diagnostics. My current project deals with developing a method to measure Trans-Epithelial Electrical Resistance for microphysiological systems. I’m also passionate about global health, crime shows, Pop Tarts, and prog rock music.
